We received the following correspondence from Soratha (CalTrans) today, 1/5 -
"The NEPA Exemption has been approved by our Environmental Team.Iam working with headquarters to finalize theEPER and send the
requestout toourDistrictDirectorsforreview and signature.Thisprocess may takea couple of weeks."
We will continue to follow up here until we eitherreceive another update orthe issued permit but pleaselet me know if you have any questions
inthemeantime!

1/17-Soratha sent additional redlines for the EPE letter. No issues with the plans. Flock

Unfortunately we were unable to get those requested as- builtsforthispole,however,aFlockTechnicianwentout and took the needed measurements of the pole. Thosemeasurementsandimageshavebeensenttoour permitting vendor to complete the CalTrans required structural analysis for this location. This should take ~1-2 weeks to complete, then we can get that over to CalTrans so that they can continue their reviewofthispermitrequest. CalTrans has notified us that the local agency in this case the City has to actually file the CEQA Exemption with the California Clearinghouse. EBIhas completed the CEQA Notice of Exemption (NOE). Please sign or have Public Works sign it and send us a copy. There is a date highlighted in yellow that needs to be updated when it is submitted. For the resubmittal, our permitting team is working on the Policy Exception Letter, CEQA exemption, and revised site plans. We have submitted the request to EBI (environmental consultant) to prepare and submit the CEQA exemption on Benicia’s behalf.EBlsaid itwouldtakeabout2-3 weeks to prepare the exemption application. Once it is prepared, they then have to post the CEQA exemption application to the California State Clearinghouse for 30 days to allow other agencies to review and comment if they have any concerns. Once the 30 days is up, EBl will produce a CEQA exemptiondocumentthatwewill then resubmit to CalTrans along with the policy exceptionletterand therevisedsiteplans. CalTrans will then review.
